We also provide onsite moorings and a hard standing yard for storage. Henry Harston founded the business 4 years ago. He was driven by a passion for wooden boats and had raced locally for nearly 25 years and sailed big classics around the Mediterranean race circuit. Once back in Norfolk, he started working in boatyards under the supervision of a master boatbuilder, soon after which he started training in the International Boatbuilding Training College and passed with distinction. He soon took his opportunity to start Broadland Boat Builders and never looked back. The business has gone from strength to strength and has gained a brilliant reputation.
In the past we have done everything from creating canoe sterns from transoms, and modifying Thames Barge wheelhouses, to restoring 2 Naval Pinnaces, as well as looking after our regular customers who winter with us each year. Our work mainly includes: planking, caulking, fit outs, decking, modifications, structural components, painting/varnishing, engineering and design.
As said previously, we are also able to offer mooring and storage facilities to you and your boat. We have a 150ft of riverside moorings and a small basin just out of the tide in a pretty location of St Olaves, plus a hard standing yard for storing your boat for the winter or even long-term throughout the year at very competitive rates. We even offer to lift-out and pressure wash them for you.
